Snapshots of Futility - A Series

We have decided that it is our right, no our duty, as fans of such a miserable franchise to recount just how pathetic the players on the past eight teams have been so that a future owner somewhere reads this and realizes just how embarrassing a baseball team made up of guys with names such as Polcovich and featuring multiple stints of people like Josaias Manzanillo truly is.

These teams, often seen from the $1 (or was it $2?) general admission seats at Three Rivers or whatever the cheapest seats at the time were at PNC Park are a true measure of just how terrible a franchise the Pittsburgh Pirates truly are. We will be starting in 2000 and working our way up the present day, analyzing and decomposing every player on the Pirates’ roster during this period. Matt and I will be alternating years, so come along for the ride and don’t forget your barf bag.
