Apparently MLB condones piercings

Folks, if you happened to look at mlb.com last night, you would have seen one of the funnier things ever inadvertently revealed to the public by a normally straight-laced sports organization.

You see, the National League has two all-star worthy first-basemen, one who is the typical starter but who has having a down year (Albert Pujols), and the other, who is having one of the two best seasons in baseball (Prince Fielder).

Major League Baseball’s response to this little quandary was to put this image up, in order to get more people to vote for their All-Star Game (click for full size):

Prince Albert…mmkay

Apparently, someone at Major League Baseball’s office is not knowledgeable of various piercings and such. The Prince Albert is best explained by Wikipedia (NSFW!). The most pertinent outtake is that, “The Prince Albert piercing (PA) is a common form of male genital piercing.” (or you can go to the link) Now, read the rest of the line and try to not chuckle at least a little bit.

I am astounded and overjoyed that this got by censors somewhere. This isn’t even the first time, either. Just two weeks ago, they put out this article, which uses similar terminology in the headline. Someone’s gotta get these people in touch with today’s culture.
