Tike and House Update

The one and only Tike Redman has seen his hot streak taper off a bit, as his average has dropped from the .444 it was at last time he was featured to .333 (or 9 for 27).  An interesting fact about Tike’s comeback is that he is hitting .360 versus righties and .000 versus southpaws.

Former WVU gunslinger and failed Pirate farmhand J.R. House also had a somewhat hot streak coming out of the chute, going 3-for-12 but hitting his first major league home run on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. A fun fact about House is that he had an OBP of 1.000 in his first major league season. Of course, it constituted one at-bat, but it is sort of impressive nonetheless.

For video of the game of Saturday, August 18, go to this page and enjoy a shot from House, a catch made much more difficult than it had to be from Tike, and a two run triple from the aforementioned Redman.
