Richard Zednik’s throat cut in scariest NHL moment ever

The NHL saw the scariest moment in its history and came close to realizing its worst nightmare on Sunday when Olli Jokinen’s skate caught teammate Richard Zednik in the throat, cutting him and causing Zednik to lose massive amounts of blood. The injury looked absolutely terrible on the ice, but Zednik is apparently was in stable condition upon leaving the arena and is in surgery tonight. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Zednik and his family.

Now, we have a copy of the video here along with several pictures, but we warn you: THIS IS DISTURBING CONTENT. If you are not comfortable with blood, do not watch this video or look at the pictures, which are located after the jump.
