Nathan Smith, streaking captain
Today (Tuesday/Wednesday nights) are kind of busy for us, so we aren’t going to do reviews of the Penguins’ victory or the Pirates’ defeat until, probably, Thursday night or late Wednesday at which point they’ll be lumped in with some other game recaps. There was, however, a tidbit out of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where the Baby Penguins seem to be celebrating their recent success by, well, streaking. Nathan Smith, the team’s captain, was charged with streaking towards a police officer at about 3 o’clock Tuesday morning. Now, there’s streaking and then there’s running naked towards a cop. You have to have had more than a few too many to say “Woah, a cop car. I think I’ll strip and run at it.” Ray Shero claimed that he was “not very pleased” about Smith’s apparent fondness for public nudity as well as Ryan Stone’s second public drunkenness offense of this season. Smith was suspended one game for his slip-up.
